The University of Chicago (Chicago, IL)

Located in Hyde Park on Chicago’s South side, the University of Chicago is one of the world’s great intellectual communities. From the Joseph Regenstein Library to the Booth School of Business, the campus offers a unique blend of culture and architecture.

Fujitec’s project with the University of Chicago initially included over 140 hydraulic and traction elevators, dock lifts and handicap lifts, including two wheelchair lifts, one hydraulic elevator and 19 geared traction elevators, all installed by Fujitec America. 

Fujitec continues to maintain several elevators for the university and this is one of their long-standing customers.

 
Xanadu (Bergen County, NJ)

Located in Bergen County, New Jersey, Xanadu is the ultimate sports, leisure, shopping and family entertainment complex in the U.S. Located in Northern New Jersey and only five miles from Manhattan, this 4.8 million-square-foot family destination offers everything from sports to fine dining. The five major lifestyle areas include: Sports, Entertainment, Fashion, Children’s Education and Food/Home. One of the most attractive features of Xanadu is America’s first indoor ski slope with real snow.

Fujitec’s contract with Xanadu includes 28 geared elevator units.
New York Times Building (New York, NY)

The New York Times Building is known as the most significant building to be designed for the New York City skyline in decades. It also has a high rise curtain wall with ceramic sunscreen, the first to be built in America.

On this project, Fujitec installed a total of 32 elevators, including 28 gearless elevators, one geared elevator, two hydraulic elevators and one machine room-less (Fujitec Talon) elevator. In addition, a state-of-the-art Destination Floor Guidance System (DFGS) was installed.
EF Center (Cambridge, MA)

The E.F. Center is the Boston area headquarters of E.F. Education. It is located near the Museum of Science in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

For this project, Fujitec Boston branch manufactured and installed three geared Millennium units at 400 fpm and 3,500 pound capacity, one geared Millennium at 350 fpm and 4,000 pound capacity and one hydraulic elevator.
Library Square (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)

Library Square's distinctive elliptical structure, office tower and retail component - designed by Moshe Safdie Associates Ltd. in association with Downs/Archambault & Partners - is the latest addition to Vancouver's cityscape.

This modern facility, designed for the City of Vancouver, consists of an office tower, which rises 21 floors above grade and an eight-story library and a retail/daycare complex. Fujitec manufactured, installed and is presently servicing seven gearless elevators, two hydraulic elevators and 10 escalators. This project was Fujitec's first in Canada.
Vancouver International Airport (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)

Vancouveris located in Western Canada at the mouth of the Fraser River. The gateway to this city is the Vancouver International Airport.

In the airport buildings, Fujitec has installed a total of 63 units including 30 elevators, 24 escalators and 9 autowalks (moving walks). With the state-of-the-art inverter-controlled system incorporated, the escalators and autowalks provide a smooth ride.

Autowalks link two buildings through an atrium suspended in midair and play an important role as a means of efficient movement of passenger traffic.

The owner isVancouver International Airport Authority, the architect is WDGC, Inc. and the contractor is PCL Constructors Pacific, Inc.
200 Celebration Place (Tampa, FL)

Disney Development's 200 Celebration Place office building, with its distinctive design, is prominently located at the main entrance of the new Disney master-planned community of Celebration. This unique nine-story complex is the home of Disney Development Headquarters, located in Kissimmee, Florida.

For the project, Fujitec America installed four 3,500-pound capacity passenger elevators and one 4,500-pound capacity service elevator, as well as two 3,500-pound passenger cars in the adjacent four-story office building.
Shangri-La (Vancouver, Canada)

The Living Shangri-La project originally began construction in 2005 and was completed in 2008. It is a mixed use complex consisting of a luxury hotel, office complex, residential tower and main floor retail, located in vibrant downtown Vancouver, BC. This 61-storey landmark building is the tallest in the city.

 

There are a total of 13 Fujitec elevators installed in this complex. They include eight gearless and one high rise geared elevator, two basement traction observation cars, one machine roomless kitchen elevator and a freight elevator. The fastest of these units running at speeds of 1200 fpm.

 

Four separate groups of owners now take care of the daily building operations and Fujitec Vancouver currently maintains all of these elevators.

 

The architect on this job was James KM Change Architects Inc. and the developer was Westbank Projects Corp.  The entire complex was built by Ledcor Construction Ltd.

 
Metropolitan Transportation Authority - Redline (Los Angeles, CA)

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) serves as transportation planner and coordinator, designer, builder and operator for 9.6 million people – nearly one-third of California’s residents.

 

The Fujitec Los Angeles office installed a total of 28 elevators and 64 escalators for 11 Redline stations including North Hollywood, Universal City, Hollywood/Highland, Hollywood/Vine, Hollywood/Western, Vermont/Sunset, Santa/Monica, Vermont/
Beverly, Wilshire/Vermont, Wilshire/Normandie and Wilshire/Western. 
Getty Center (Los Angeles, CA)

The Getty Center is an art museum located in Brentwood, CA and opened in December 1997. The center is known for its architecture, gardens and views overlooking downtown Los Angeles.

 

The Fujitec Los Angeles office installed 31 elevator units at the center.
