Standard Safety Features


   

Handrail Safety Guard

Stops the Autowalk immediately when an object is caught in the handrail inlet.

Emergency Stop Button

Stops the Autowalk immediately when pressed. A cover is provided to prevent accidental triggering.

Broken Pallet Chain Safety Device

Stops the Autowalk if the pallet chain stretches or breaks.

Electric Circuit Protection Device

Protects the Autowalk circuitry and electrical parts.

Magnetic Brake

Stops the Autowalk smoothly by means of a spring force if the power fails, any of the safety devices activate or if anyone presses the emergency stop button.

Broken Drive Chain Safety Device

Stops the Autowalk if the drive chain over-stretches or breaks.

Stopped Handrail Device

Stops the Autowalk if the handrail stops.

Pallet Sag Safety Device

Stops the Autowalk if something is wrong with the pallet connections due to sagging.

Reversal Stop Device

Stops the Autowalk if unintentional or accidental reversal of the travel direction occurs. (Inclined Autowalk only.)

Missing Pallet Device

Stops the Autowalk if a missing pallet is detected.

Interlock for the Rolling Shutter Device

In cases where a rolling shutter is used, the Autowalk stops automatically by interlock if the Autowalk’s rolling shutter begins to close.

Tandem Operation Interlock Device

In cases of tandem operation Autowalks: If the Autowalk carrying passengers away from the landing stops, it will automatically stop by the electrical interlocks. This assures that the Autowalks run in the same direction.

Anti-Phase Reversal Device

Prevents burning of the motor due to overload operation, phase-failure or reverse phase operation.

Speed Governor

Stops the Autowalk if it accelerates to 120% or more of the rated speed.

Automatic Announcement System

Gives announcement or warning to passengers automatically.

Dual Speed Selector

By selecting different speed operations of 90 ft./min. or 120 ft./min., passenger capacity can be adjusted.

Comb Safety Device

Stops the Autowalk if anything becomes trapped between the pallet and comb.

Handrail Safety Device

Stops the Autowalk if the handrail is cut

Lighting Under Pallet

The bottom of the pallet at the landing areas is lit in green for safety.

Comb Light

Lit for safety, the comb light is located on the skirt guards at the landing areas.

Newel Light

Lit for easy landings, the newel light is located on the extensions of the interior panel. (PS-ST only.)

Panel Light

The panel light is located at the midway of the interior panel to illuminate passengers’ feet. (PS-ST only.)

Exterior Panels

Exterior panels can be provided upon request.

Outer Deck Extension

Additional deck extension can be provided upon request.

Note: Automatic starting is not provided (ANSI Code).

 
Work By Others


    The following installation work is performed by others…

Construction Work

  1. Blockouts for the Autowalk and support beam installation. Installation of a hook or a sleeve hole on the ceiling to hoist the deadweight of the Autowalk.
  2. Protect and finish areas adjacent to the Autowalk during installation.
  3. Installation of the parapets around the Autowalk and safety provisions to prevent a fall.
  4. Protection of the exterior finish of the installed Autowalk. Installation of lights on the exterior cladding.
  5. Installation of fireproof shutters and sprinklers as required by code.
  6. Work to make entrances and to secure an access path to carry the truss into the building and the restoration work, as well as cutting and patching.
  7. Provisions at the work site and an adequate, secure storage area.

Electrical Work

  1. Main and lighting power supply (inclusive of earth wires, wiring for supervisory panel, etc.) up to the receiving panel in the machine room.
  2. Conduits and wiring from the Autowalk to the fire shutters.
  3. Adequate power for installation and adjustment work.
  4. Emergency lighting.
  5. Adequate conduit to any remote status panel or fire control center.

To avoid accidents, the following steps must be taken inside the building by others

  1. If there is an opening between the Autowalk and the building floor, a partiiton plate or guard shall be used to prevent a fall.
  2. In cases where there is a clearance of 7 7/8" (200 mm) or more between the Autowalks or between the Autowalk and the opening of the building floor, safety provisions such as a net shall be installed to prevent a fall during installation.
  3. Warning signs, guide plates or an announcement system shall be put in place to prohibit children from playing around the Autowalk installation area.

· Use of wheelchairs, strollers and shopping carts on Autowalks is not recommended

· Preventive maintenance and inspection are indispensable in keeping the Autowalk in safe and good working condition.
